CONFIRMATION OF ENFORCEMENT DISCRETION REGARDING TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3.7.6 - DOCKET NO. 50-424 On July 10, 1987, NRC granted verbal enforcement discretion concerning Vogtle Technical Specification 3.7.6 action statement in a telephone conversation with W. Burns and G. Bockhold of your staff.
NRC received your letter dated July 10, 1987 describing the request and agreements. This GPC letter has been reviewed by the NRC staff. This letter confirms that enforcement discretion is granted to permit delaying the achievement of Cold Shutdown for an additional 42 hours4.861111e-4 days <br />0.0117 hours <br />6.944444e-5 weeks <br />1.5981e-5 months <br /> beyond your action statement of TS 3.7.6 from July 10 until July 12, 1987 at 4:22 p.m. EST.
Also, enforcement discretion is granted to permit the startup and power operation for a period of up to seven days after the "B" train is restored to operable status before removing the "A"
train from service for similar modifications.
Justification for operation in this condition is addressed in of the GPC Letter dated July 10, 1987.
