dated June 25, 1987 l
Dear Sir,
The referenced letter forwarded an NRC Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties and, pursuant to the provision of 10 CFR 2.201, indicated that a response was required within 30 days. The Notice also indicated that consideration would be given to extending the response time for good cause shown.
In accordance with the agreement reached during the telephone discussion on July 8,1987 between Mr. Harold B. Ray, Vice President, Southern California Edison Company (SCE), and Mr. John B. Martin, USNRC Regional Administrator, l
l SCE's response to the Notice of Violation and will be submitted by August 10, 1987. The additional time is needed to ensure a complete response is provided.
However, with respect to the two violations for which civil penalties were proposed, SCE's response will admit that they did occur. Accordingly, as payment of the penalties specified in the Notice, enclosed is a check, payable to the Treasurer of the United States, in the amount of $100,000.
