Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. G. Taylor of this office
during the period August 31 through September 4, 1987, of activities authorized
by NRC License NPF-71 and NRC Construction Permits CPPR-128 and CPPR-129 for
the South Texas Project, and to the discussion of our findings with members of
your staff during the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included followup of allegations received
l
by the NRC that affected the South Texas Project.
Within this area, the
inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the NRC inspector.
The
inspection findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
