NRC SAFETY EVALUATION ON THE FIRST TEN-YEAR INTERVAL INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM PLAN FOR FERMI-2 (TAC # 59616)
The NRC staff and its consultant, Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, have reviewed Revision 0, Change 2, of the subject Inservice Inspection Program l
Plan and find the plan to be acceptable and in compliance with the provisions j
The extent to which the relief requested has been j
granted from Section XI of the ASME Code requirements is indicated in Table 1 i
to the enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE).
Attached to the enclosed SE is the staff consultant's' Technical Evaluation Report, which discusses the bases for not granting some of the relief requested from ASME Code requirements.
It should also be noted that, with respect to the relief requested from ASME Code
)
examination of the reactor vessel welds, Category B-A, and indicated as "not granted" in Table 1 to the enclosed SE, the NRC staff is still in the l
process of reviewing the procedure for the examination of those welds.
The staff's conclusion from that review, as it pertains to Fermi-2, will be communicated to you at a later date.
Should you have any questions concerning the enclosed SE, or wish to discuss further those relief requests not granted, please let me know.
