l On January 29, 1987, GPUN submitted Technical Specification Change Request I
No.163 which proposed limiting conditiens for operation and surveillance requirements for remote shutdown system instrumentation and controls installed to meet 10CFR50, Appendix R requirements. GPUN is withdrawing this request as proposed by the NRC staff.
Generic Letter 86-10, Section F allows the incorporation of the fire protection program into the FSAR. We feel the content of TSCR 163 is appropriate to include in our submittal per Generic Letter 86-10. The submittal will include the removal of the fire protection Technical Specifications, therefore, proposing new Tech. Specs. for a fire protection system is unnecessary.
Surveillance of the remote shutdown system instrumentation and controls will be maintained at the present frequency as part of a routine surveillance program.
GPUN does not require a response to this letter.
