CILRT. SCHEDULE Gentlemen:'

Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) performed,a Containment Integrated Leak Rate Test (CILRT)in May 1987 on the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No.1

~(BSEP-1).. This test was classified as "falled" in NRC Inspection Report 50-325/324/87-15.. Appendix J, Section Ill.A.6.(a) of 10CFR50 requires NRC review and approval of the schedule'for future CILRT if any Type A test is failed. The Company plans to maintain the current CILRT interval of 40 t 10 months at BSEP-1 unless two successive failures occur, at which time an 18-month, or every refueling outage, interval will begin.
