Dear Dr. Murley:
In the above referenced letter, Commonwealth Edison provided information to your staff regarding the Reload High Density Fuel Racks in the Quad Cities Unit 1 Fuel Pool.
This transmittal was made in response to Boroflex degradation observed at the Point Beach Nuclear Power Station.
Attached, please find a copy of the " Quad Cities Neutron Radioassay Measurement Guidelines", dated January 1989 for your information.
Commonwealth Edison plans to begin employing the program guidelines sometime during the first quarter of 1989. The results from the neutron radioassay measurements should be available during the second quarter of 1989.
Commonwealth Edison is willing to provide this information to your staff for their information at that time.
Please direct any questions you may have regarding this matter to this office.
