SUBJECT:
OPPD Response to the Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalty The Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) received the Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalty, Reference 2, on September 11, 1987.
The Civil Penalty resulted from a Severity Level III Violation for failure to document a review required by 10 CFR 50.59 that a change did not involve an unreviewed safety question.
After careful deliberation, OPPD has elected to pay the civil penalty.
Enclosed is a check in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars
($50,000.00).
OPPD believes the improved procedures that are currently being implemented will ensure that 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations are performed and adequately documented.
