Quality Assurance Plan for Shipping Fuel From
- Un iversity of Wash ington to DOE Fac t ' lties as specif ied in 10 CF R 71.101.
The University of Weshington Nuclear Reactor (R-73) was last i
operated June 30, 1988.
Arrangements are being made with DOE l
Idaho Fai is to ship the Irradiated, low level irradiated and unirradiated reactor' fuel to DOE facilities.
Included in the material are some smalI samp l es of the f uel a l loy (28 grams U-235)..0f these, some have had Iow Ievei Irradiation and the rest are unirradiated.
Our p l en is to use two of the GE Model 200 casks to ship the Irradiated fuel to the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant in Idaho.
The unirradiated and low level irradiated material wilI be shipped in DOT approved containers to a destination to be determined by DOE.
The enclosed qual ity assurance p l an for these shipments is being submitted for approval.
