' Pursuant;.to the requirements of NRC Bulletin No.~88-11, Pressurizer Surge.
Line Thermal Stratification, the Catawba Nuclear Station Unit 11 Pressurizer
- Surge Line was Linspected.during.the. end of cycle 3. refueling outage in _
January 1989. This-inspection' included a visual: examination. of pipe welds,
- exterior;pipeJsurfaces, rupture' restraints, and.all associated pipe supports. The' exterior pipe surface was carefully examined at' each rupture
- restraint location to detect any contact. No damage to the Pressurizer Surge LLine was discovered. The only problem noted was a strut to clamp axis.

restrainti The strut to clamp axis alignment was corrected. The cause'of the misalignment could not.be' determined. The affected support restraint will be reinspected during the Catawba Unit i end of cycle 4 refueling outage in March 1990.
