This refers to the routine safety inspection , related to snubber surveillance '

and testing, conducted by Mr. J. A. Gavula of this office on September 22-24,

i 1987, of activities at Callaway Plant, Unit 1, authorized by NRC Operating a

License No NPF-25 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. T. McFarland j

at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during )

the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective l

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and c

interviews with personnel. ,

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this l

inspection. 1

In accordance witi l'., CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of

this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC

Public Document Room.
