FORT ST. VRAIN STEAM GENERATOR BIMETALLIC WELDS (TACN0.65991) l During 1986 and 1987, we received reports concerning steam generator (boiler) tube failures at certain Advanced Gas Reactor's (AGRs) in the United Kingdom. The similarity of these AGR steam generators to those at Fort St.

Vrain (FSV), prompted an inquiry into the failure mechanisms expected at FSV for its steam generators. The results of our review are in the enclosed safety evaluation. The staff concludes the continued operation of FSV is not affected by the AGR steam generator tube failures.
