SUBJECT:
FIRE PROTECTION SAFE SHUTDOWN INSPECTION - MILLSTONE UNIT.2 This letter is to inform you of our plans to conduct an NRC special announced team inspection on July 13-17, 1987, of y'our facility with. regard - to the-ability to provide safe shutdown in the event of a fire. The ' team leader for this inspection will be Mr.'A. Krasopoulos.
To effectively conduct the inspection, we request that analyses, procedures and other documentation on this subject, be available at the site during the.
inspection.
Engineering personnel knowledgeable of your ~ efforts in this area should also be available. In addition, we have requested that-one set of such documentation is made 'available to the team at the Region I office of the NRC in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
These documents. have been received by my staff.
Your staff has indicated that a work location for the team in an area with easy access to the plant drawing files has been arranged. - Additionally, we under-stand that personnel escorts will be available to allow team members ready access to all areas of the plant. We request that you specify a member of.your staff as a primary point of contact for the team to meet with at the end of each day to discuss any findings the team may have and to receive requests for additional information required to resolve any open issues.
