SPECIAL REPORT NO. 87-12: OVERDUE GAGE CALIBRATION FOR SIXTEEN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION LISTED FIRE ZONES

Dear Mr. Martin:

l The Sacramento Municipal Utility District hereby submits Special Report No. 87-12 in accordance with Technical Specifications, Section 3.14 and 6.9.5.E.

During Cold shutdown conditions on May 16, 1987, the following fire zones were declared technically inoperable:

gages were recalibrates on June 16, 1987, per Work Request No.

132700 which was completed in the field on June 17, 1987. It should be.noted that1the as-found condition of all of these gages.

.. Zone 15 carbon dioxide' suppression was also inoperable from May L i 26, 1987 through June 15, 1987 to repair the local disable switch.- The disable switch was repaired under Work Request No.

130495.

Zone 41 carbon dioxide suppression has been inoperable since May

2 6, 1987, due to a- clearance (i.e. , tag out) on this subsystem.

Door AU-132 is the entry to Zone 41. That door was removed because of interference it was causing with diesel generator work. The. door reinstallation is scheduled to be complete by i July 10, 1987.

l The proper compensatory measures were established per Technical Specification 3.14.4 for each inoperable subsystem listed above.
