During the week of May 18, 1987, personnel from this office performed an
,
inspection of your licensed program relative to radiological controls
!
implemented during the current refueling outage-.
The findings of the inspec-
tion were discussed with Mr. N. St. Laurent and other members of your staff on
May 22, 1987. The details of the inspection are enclosed with this letter.
While no apparent violations of NRC requirements were observed, we continue to
see evidence of weaknesses in your control of high radiation exclusion area
keys. A Resident Inspection Report (85-11), identified similar problems
relative to key controls required by Technical Specifications. Accordingly, you
are requested to respond within 30 days, indicating how you will improve
control of these keys by personnel in your Operations and Radiation Protection
Departments.
