l Gentlemen: to this letter is a proposed amendment to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-39 and DPR-48, Appendix A, Section 4.22.2-Shock Suppressors (Snubbers). This proposed amendment is a one-time request designed to allow the visual inspection of snubbers to be performed during planned refueling outages. provides a detailed description of the proposed 1
amendment and outlines the background associated with this request.
It demonstrates that this proposed amendment is requesting to take credit for a i
Unit 2 snubber inspection that was performed 40 days earlier than is l
currently allowed.
In addition, this change is requesting an approximate 30 i
day delay in an analogous Unit I snubber inspection. These schedule alterations are required to preclude an unnecessary shutdown on each of the Zion Units.
d contains Commonwealth Edison Company's demonstration that this proposed amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration. This change has received On-site and off-site review and approval.
A $150.00 remittance is enclosed in accordance with 10 CFR 170. 'As provided by 10 CFR 50.91, the State of Illinois is being notified of this amendment request by transmittal of a copy of this letter and the attachments.
