il ENCLOSURE 5.
History of the number of loss of main feedwater events and loss of offsite power events for each year of operation Resoonse: - A Loss of Offsite Power (LOOP) event is defined as a simultaneous loss of the 345 KV feed and the 161 KV feed into the station.
There has been only one recorded LOOP event at the Fort Calhoun Station.
This event occurred August 22, 1977 when the incoming 161 KV line tripped and the fast transfer failed to perform as designed resulting in a momentary loss of power to station loads. This event was reported in LER 77-021 In addition to the one LOOP event, there have been three other times when all offsite power was unavailable.
In all three cases, the plant was in a refueling outage and either the 161KV or 345KV feed was out for maintenance and the other incoming feeder was lost (twice due to personnel error and the third time due to a fault in a station transformer.)
These events were reported in LER's87-008 and 87-009, and Abnormal Occurrence Report No.75-007.
There have been no total loss of main feedwater events at the Fort Calhoun Station.
