Plant Conditions Prior to Occurrence The plant has been in a major outage with the reactor in cold shutdown.
Identification of Occurrence h
The following fire protection component was not restored to operable status within seven (7) days as specified in Technical Specifications Section 3.14.2.2.
Diesel Drive Fire Pump P-996 Description of Ociprrence On August 17, 1987, the diesel driven fire pump was removed from service to investigate high temperatures on the pump's outboard bearing.
Corrective Actions Taken The motor driven fire pump, P-440, was verified operable at the time P-996 was removed f om service.
P-996 was restored to operable status on September 4, 1987 following bearing replacement and satisfactory surveillance testing.
