Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. W. D. Johnson and
C. C. Harbuck of this office during the period August 1-31, 1987, of activities
authorized by NRC Operating Licenses DPR-51 and NPF-6 for Arkansas Nuclear One,
Units 1 and 2, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. M. Levine and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection included operational safety verification,
maintenance, surveillance, followup on Three Mile Island Action Plan, the Unit
I reactor building elevated temperatures, and the Unit 2 plant protection
system cabinets.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the NRC inspectors.
The inspection findings are-
documented in the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
