l NRC RELEASES DOCUMENTS RELATED TO INVESTIGATION l
OF STAFF ACTIONS IN TEXAS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT CACE

l The Nuclear Regulatory Comission is releasing documents related to an investigation of NRC activities ir.volving the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power
/
Plant under construction in Texas.
Included in the material being made public I
are a November 1986 report of the Comission's Office of Inspector and Auditor, a March 1987 report of the Comanche Peak Report Review Group, and an April 14 l
memorandum from the Executive Director for Operations to the Commissioners l
concerning the Review Group's recommendations.
The Commission has not reached conclusions on the infonnation in the documents being released in view of the fact that it has appointed David C.
I Williams, Director of the Office of Special Investigations of the General Accounting Office, to conduct a special inquiry into several matters, including the adequacy of the Office of Inspector and Auditor investi ation of the 3
Comanche Peak matters.
The documents being made public today contain deletions necessary to comply with the Privacy Act, to protect the names of the persons who requested l
that that their names be withheld for personal privacy reasons, or where the l
material involved prospective personnel matters.
I Copies of the documents being released are available for public inspection at the NRC's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC, and at the Region IV. office of the NRC in Arlington, Texas.
