%*****M August 17, 1987
/ The Honorable Nicholas Mavroules United States House of Representatives Washington, D.C.
20515
Dear Congressman Mavroules:
In your recent letter to Chairman Zech, you urged that the Commission should take no. action on its proposed emergency planning rule until such time as the Federal Emergency Management Agency has reviewed an emergency plan for six Massachusetts communities, to be submitted by the Public Service Company of New Hampshire.
Your letter took the position that having the views of FEMA on the PSNH plan would assist the NRC's decision and' would have other public benefits.
Your letter has been placed in the rulemaking docket of the proposed rule and will be considered by the Commission in arriv-ing at a decision.
Your contribution to this important issue is appreciated.
Sincerely, Martin G. Malsch 4
Deputy General Counsel for Licensing and Regulation t
