Reis, l NRC consultants and other members of this office during the period April 11 through May 4,1987, of activities authorized by NRC Construction

Permits CPPR-128 and CPPR-129 for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. W. H. Kinsey and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. Areas examined during the inspection included the inservice testing program; activities of the plant safety review committees; Three Mile Island and Generic Letter 83-28 action items followup; preoperational test procedure review and test witnessing; IE Bulletins, Circulars, and Notices; and site tours. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the NRC inspectors. The inspection findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report. I Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were ' i l identified. We have also examined actiuns you have taken with regard to previously identified inspection findings and reported ~ deficiencies. The status of these items is identified in paragraphs 2 and 3 of the enclosed report. Should you have any cuestions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
