'I We understand that Gv!f States Utilities Company intends to apply I shcrtly to the Atcmic Energy cannission for a license to construct a nuclear power plent.

In accc dance with section 105c of the Ato'1ic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), copies of the application and infonnation reouested by the Attorney General relative to his anti-trust review will be transmitted promptly upon receipt.

In an effort to avoid delays cn decisions for construction permit applications as a result of relicensing antitrust review, we have attached who purchasea listilo of smaller bulk po';er fro 7, r.unicicals and investor-owned utilities interconnect with, adjoin service areas with or may in some way be affected by the operations of the prospective applicant.

We believe that by providing you with this information orior to the formal su%ission of tre applicant to the AEC, the Attorney General will be able to initiate his investigation as soon as this material is received. Through this procedure potential antitrust problens may be identified c,uickly and we hope reduce the review tire l tc less than the 180-cay period pmvided by the Act. '
