Gentlemen:
Carolina Power & Light Company hereby informs the Staff of a necessary change to the Control Room Design Review (CRDR) corrective action implementation schedule for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant. This submittal is in compliance with the commitment for notification of schedule changes as stated in the referenced documents.
The Control Room Furnishings Project, described in Section 6.2.11 of the CRDR final summary report, was scheduled for completion by December 31,1987. Twelve of the fifteen Human Engineering Discrepancies (HED) addressed by this project have been completed. The remaining three HEDs (HED # 2063-3125,20SY-3204, and 206X-3272) j are to be resolved by the installation of a guard rail in the control room. Due to the current unavailability of certain guard rail brackets, the guard rail installation cannot be completed by the scheduled implementation date. In order to avoid negative safety impact during plant operation, the installation of guard rail brackets onto the control J
panels will occur during upcoming plant Refueling Outages. The guard rail installation will be completed during Refueling Outage 6 for Unit No.1 (currently scheduled to begin November l988) and Refueling Outage 7 for Unit No. 2 (currently scheduled to begin January 1988).
Should additional CRDR Project schedule changes prove necessary, we will notify you promptly.
