2.1 Detection and surveillance is performed with an ultrasonic thickness gauge utilizing 1-5 mHz transducers andl digital

display capability.

report format and/or surveillance folders.

PROCEDURE 6.1 Assure the piping surface to be examined is clean and free of foreign materials.

6.2 Examine the following areas as illustrated on the attachments:

6.2.1 Service water piping intake structure, turbine building trench, TBCCW supply, vital switchgear cooling supply and return piping, RBCCW room, diesel cooling.

6.2.2 Continuous vents for' heaters 1A, 18, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 48, 5A, 5B, 6A and 6B.

6.2.3 M.S.R. lA and IB high pressure drains.

6.2.4 M.S.R. IA and 1B second stage steam supply high pressure drains.

6.2.5 Main steam high pressure drains.

6.2.6 Extraction steam to feedwater. heaters 1A, 18, 2A,' 28, 3A, 38, 4A, 4B and 1st stage reheat to M.S.R.'s, auxiliary reboiler.

6.2.7 Steam generator blowdown piping.

6.2.8 Condensate piping.

6.2.9 Feedwater piping.

6.2.10 Heater drains piping.

6.3 Determination of appropriate corrective action shall be based on percentage of wall loss.

Any piping discovered to possess wall loss greater than 30% will be retested quarterly.

Piping found to be in excess of 49% will be recommended for. replacement.

6.4 Piping segments suspected of degradation will be examined just prior to the refueling, if possible, or during the normal refuel outage period.

6.5 Inspections and evaluations will be performed by the Inservice Test and Repair Group.

6.6 Other piping segments may be examined and documented using this procedure as deemed necessary by the Engineering Supervisor, or the Assistant Engineering Supervisor (Inser'vice Test and Repair Group).
