Barron Vice President - l McGuire Site l 12700 Hagers Ferry Road Huntersville, NC 28078-8985 SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-369/97-13 AND 50-370/97-13 Dear Mr. Barron: L On July 24,1997, the NRC comple'ed an. inspection at your McGuire NucHar Station. The enclosed report presents the resul's of that inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by the license were conducted safaly and in accordance with NRC requirements. Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress. f- Based on the results of this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be potential violations of NRC requirements. These issues are identified as unresolved items pending further NRC review, in addition, the enclosed Inspection Report identifies activities that violated NRC requirements that will not be subject to enforcement action because the licensee's efforts in identifying and correcting the violation meet the criteria specified in section Vll.B of the Enforcement Policy.
