Dear Dr. Tripard:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.17 to Facility Operating License No. R-76 for the Washington State University Research Reactor. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your submittal dated February 20, 1998.

The amendment updates reporting requiremants in the Technical Specifications (TS) to be  !

consistent with current NRC guidance for rosearch reactors.
