CORRECTION TO EVALUATION OF RELIEF REQUEST MC-R001 RELATED TO QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION PERSONNEL PERFORMING CONTAINMENTINSPECTIONS - DUANE ARNOLD ENERGY CENTER (TAC NO. MA0419)
Dear Mr. Liu:
On April 16,1998, the Commission approved Relief Request MC-R001 related to qualification requirements for non-destructive examination personnel performing containment inspections at the Duane Arnold Energy Center, in response to your request dated December 19,1997, as supplemented on March 18,1998.
An error was identified on page 4 of :he staff's safety evaluation. The last sentence of the first full paragraph on page 4 of the safety evaluation should read:
The licensee's proposed attemative is to continue to use SNT-TC-1 A for certifying and qualifying NDE personnel for the current 10-year inspection interval.
A copy of the corrected page 4 of the safety evaluation is enclosed and should replace the page issued on April 16,1998. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this issue.
