NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC) STAFF MEMORANDA TO BE PLACED ON AP600 DOCKET
Dear Mr. Liparulo:
Enclosed are reports of test observations at the SPES-2, OSU/ APEX, and CMT test facilities that were prepared as intomal NRC memoranda during the AP600 design certification test program but were never placed on ttie AP600 docket or in the public document room (PDR). The staff have determined that the memoranda contain important information supporting the staffs regulatory determination regarding the adequacy of the test program. Because these memo-randa are referenced in the staffs SER, they will need to be placed on the docket.
You have requested that portions of the information submitted in the June 1992 application for design certification be exempt from mandatory public disclosure. While the staff has not completed its review of your request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790, that portion of the submitted information is being withheld from public disclosure pending the staffs final determination. The staff concludes that the enciou J memoranda do not contain those portions of the information for which exemption is sought. However, the staff will withhold this letter from public disclosure for 30 calendar days from the date of this letter to allow Westing.
