Dear Mr. Anderson:
By letter dated March 10. 1997, we requested you to confirm your design basis to meet 10 CFR Part 50. Appendix R. Section Ill.L.1(d). requirements for alternate sbtdown capability to "... achieve cold shutdown within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days
0.02 hours
1.190476e-4 weeks
2.7396e-5 months
...."
By letter dated August 29, 1997. you> responded to our request and informed us of completion of reanalysis of the Appendix R cooldown capability.
Your letter provided key input parameters-and results of the reanlaysis.
Based on your reanalysis, you concluded that cooldown to cold shutdown-conditions would be achieved within 66.3 hour3.472222e-5 days
8.333333e-4 hours
4.960317e-6 weeks
1.1415e-6 months
st We did not perform a detailed review of your analysis.
