SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-298/98-10 AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Horn:
From March 2-6,1998, a routine physical security inspection was conducted at your Cooper
. Nuclear Station reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that
~ inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included portions of your physical security program.
During this inspection, one violation of NRC requirements., was identified.
The NRC has concluded that information regarding the reason for the vioiation and the
corrective actions taken to correct the violation and prevent recurrence have already been

adequately addressed. Reefore, you are not required to respond to this letter unless the
description therein does not cccurately reflect your corrective actions or your position. In that
case, or if yca choose to provide additional information, you should follow the instructions
f
specified in the enclosed Notice.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its
enclosures, and your response to the violation (should you choose to provide a response), will
]
be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
