Dear Dr. Fouch:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 9 to Facility License No. R 113 for the United States Geological Survey TRIGA Reactor. The amendment consists of changes to the license in response to your submittal of March 6,1998, as supplemented on April 1,1998.

The amendment updates NRC reporting requirements and allows reporting by facsimile.

A copy of the safety evaluation supporting Amendment No. 9 is also enclosed.
