RESTART OF PELLET MANUFACTURING AREA
Dear Mr. Allen:
This letter confirms the telephone discussion on September 2,1997, during which I stated that the NRC has no objection to Westinghouse restarting pelleting operations. This NRC position is based on corrective actions taken by Westinghouse in response to the discovery (and subsequent shutdown) of equipment in the pellet manufacturing area that did not have adequate safety analysis documentation. These corrective actions were documented in your letter dated September 3,1997. Your implementation of the corrective actions will be reviewed at a future inspection.
