INSTRUMENTATION 3/4.3.6 CONTROL R00 BLOCK INSTRUMENTATION llMITING CONDITION FOR OPERATION 3.3.6. The ciint'rol rod block instrumentation channels shown in Table 3.3.6-1 ,

shall be OPERABLE with their trip setpoints set consistent with the values shown ja the Trip Setpoint column of Table 3.3.6-2.

APPLICABILfTYt As shown in Table 3.3.6-1. -

ACTION!

a.
 • With a control rod block instrumentation channel trip setpoint less

. conservative than the value shown.in the Allowable Values column of

- Table 3.3.6-2, declare the channel inoperable until the channel is restored to OPERABLE status with its trip setpoint adjusted consistent with the Trip Setpoint valua.

b. With the number of 0PERABLE channels less than required by the Minimum .

OPERABLE Channels per Trip Function requirement, take the ACTION required by Table 3.3.6-1.

SURVEfLLANCE RE001REMENTS Each of the above required control rod block trip systems and ns rumentation channels shall be demonstrated OPERABLE

 • by the performance of l the CHANNEL CHECK, CHANNEL FUNCTIONAL TEST, and CHANNEL CALIBRATION operations for the OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS and at the frequencies ,shown in Table 4.3.6-1.

4.34

 • A channel may be placed in an inoperable status for up to 6 hours6.944444e-5 days
0.00167 hours
9.920635e-6 weeks
2.283e-6 months
for required surveillance without piacing the trip system in the tripped condition, provided at

-least one other operable channel in the same trip system is monitoring that parameter.

2. At least once per 31 days by verifying both position Indicators OPERABLE by observing expected valve movement during the cycling test.
3. At leas r 24 months by: l a) Verifying - each valve's opening setpoint, from the closed 4 position, to be 0.5 psid
 • 5%, and Onc e- b) Verifying both position indicators OPERABLE by performance of a CHANNEL CALIBRATION.

c) Verifying that each outboard valve's position indicator is capable of detectiig disk displacement a0.050", and each inboard valve's position-. indicator is capable of detecting disk displacement a0.120".

my sampling new fuel oil in accordance with ASTM D6057-41 prior to aeditlen to the storage tanks and:

1) ly verifying in accordance with the tests specified in ASTM Ug/5-31 prior to addition to the storage tanks that the sample has:

a) An API travity of within O.3 degrees at 60*F er a specific a

(M gravity of within 0.0015 at ge/50*F, een compared to the supplier's certificate or an absolute specific gravity at 80/80*F of greater than er equal to 0.83 but less than or equal to 0.89 er an Ap! eravity at Ge*F of greater than er eeuel to 27 degrees but less than er equal to se degrees.

b) A kinematic viscosity at 40*C of greater than er equal to 1.g contistakes, het less than er equal to 4.1 cantistokes, if gravity was not determined by camparisen with the supplier's certification, c) A flash point equal to or etwater than 125*F, 'and d) A clear and bright appearance with proper color when tested in accordance with AETM D4176-st,

2) By verifying within 31 days of ettai'iing the sample that the other properties 'specified in Table 1 of ASTM Dg75-81 are met when tested in accordance with ASTM D975-51 except that the analysis for sulfur may be performed in accordance with ASTM D1552-73 or ASTM DP622-82.
d. At Toast once every 31 days by obtaining a sample of fuel oil free the storage tanks in accordance with ASTM Dat?6-7s, and verifying that total partit:ulate contamination is less than 10 mg checked in accordance with A5TM Ott76-7s, method A, exce/litar when pt that, the filters'specified in ASTM Dtt?6-78, Sections 5.1.E and 5.1.7, any have a nominal pere site of up to three (3) etcrons.
e. At the following frequency by:

1.

Every la months sub.iecting the diesel to an inspection in accordance with procedures prepared in conjunction with its manufacturer's i

recommendations for this class of standby service.

2.

Every 24 months verify each diesel generator's capability to reject a lead of greater than or equal to that of its single largest post-accident lead wh1)r maintaining voltage at 4t85 s 420 volts and frequency at 60 a 1.2 ha and after steady state conditions are reached, voltage is maintained at 4280 e 120 volts.
