SUBJECT: INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50 271/97-07
- Dear Mr. Reid:-
This letter transmits the report of the NRC's special inspection of your Access-
Authorization Program conducted by Messrs, G. C. Smith of this office and R.- Rosano of
the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station on
August 26,1997.- Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the enclosed
report. The inspection consisted of interviews and examination of selected procedures and
representativo records. Our findings were discussed with Mr. R. Wanczyk and other
members of your staff by Mr. Smith by telephone on September 3,1997.
The inspectors determined that your access authorization procram meets the applicable
regulatory requirements.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
