Dear Mr. Hunger:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendments Nos. 220and 223 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56 for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3. These amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSa) in response to your application dated May 9, 1

1997, as supplemented by letter dated July 14, 1997.

i These amendments revise the technical specifications to extend the replacement frequency for the inflatable seat seals for the primary containment purge and vent valves to 96 months.

! A copy of the Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's Bi-Weekly Federal Reaister Notice. Please inform me when you have implemented these amendments.
