herein, 1

1.

Please provide all probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) studies of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant conducted by or for Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation.

Th is request includes PRA studies of all types, whether limited y

or extensive in scope, and regardless of the depth of the j

study.

This request also includes studies of all potential accident initiators (including, but not limited to, loss of I

offsite power, other transients, loss-of-coolant accidents, external initiators such as fire, flood, seismic, aircraft j

crash, etc.).

This request also specifically includes any Individual Plant Evaluation (IPE) f or Vermont Yankee con-ducted pursuant to the NRC's Severe Accident Policy State-ment and/or the IDCOR IPE program.

2.

Please provide all documents which provide estimates of the structural reliability of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant spent fuel pool and the s'ructure(s) within t

which the spent fuel pool cooling system is located for loadings which may be imposed by seismic events (both within and exceeding the design-basis earthquake / safe shutdown earthquake) and for loadings which may result. from severe accidents (accidents beyond the plant design basis such as those evaluated in the Vermont Yankee containment Safety Study).

3.

Please provide all documents which comment upon or otherwise evaluate the Vermont Yankee Containment Safety Study.

.p..

2-I.;

4.

Please provide all documents which provide responses to the-comments in documents provided in response to question

  1. 3, above.

5.

z Please provide a copy of the document YAEC-1564, BWR; Mark I Containment Evaluation - Vermont Yankee, October 1986.

6.

. Please provide. all. documents provided' to Peter R. Davis and Michael L.

Corradini during the conduct of - their review of the Vermont Yankee Containment Safety Study, which was conducted for the State of Vermont, Department of Public Service.

7.

Please provide all estimates of the probability of any seismic ground acceleration value for the Vermont Yankee site which is in the possession of' VYNPC.

8.

Please provide all documents describing. or otherwise.

portraying - (as in the form of drawings, schematics,.etc.)-

the systems required to ensure adequate cooling of spent fuel at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant.

.9.

Please provide all documents which provide an estimate of the failure pressure and/or location of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station under loadings imposed by severe accidents.

10 Please provide copies of all. operating and emergency.

procedures covering the following types of situations:

1.

Venting of the drywell and/or wetwell airspace ~during severe accidents.

2.

Use of the diesel driven fire pump _ for core. coolant injection and/or containment spray.

3.

Coping with station blackout due ' to loss of all AC.or DC power to vital buses.

4.

Responding to earthquakes (including procedures for resetting relays and breakers).

5.

Coping with accidents. involving the' spent fuel' pool,'

including accidents beyond the-design basis (e.g., fuel damage, fuel melting, zirconium. fires, J etc. ).
