Dear Mr. Kuehn:

The staff has completed its environmental revi3w of the request of the Saxton Nuclear Experimental Corporation and GPU Nuclear, Inc. to authorize facility decommissioning for the Saxton Nuclear Experimental Facility. The staff has prepared the enclosed Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant impact, and Notice of issuance of Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant impact that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication. ,

The staff concludes that there will be no significant environmentalimpact attributable to this proposed action. Having reached this conclusion, the staff has further concluded that no Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed action r'eed be prepared and that a Finding of No Significant impact is oppropriate.
