NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-440/98006(DRP)
Dear Mr. Myers:
On March 10,1998, the NRC completed a routine safety inspection at your Perry Nuclear Power -
Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During this six-week inspection period, your conduct of activities was characterized by continued -
conservative operation of the plant. However, the failure of operators to promptly identify an
' inoperable containment isolation valve on March 8,1998, reinforced our previously expressed
concem with the frequency and quality of control panel walkdowns.' Additionally, several .
. examples of scaffolding storage, and installation problems are discussed in this report.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection.
