Dear Mr. Kingsley:
l On September 4,1997, Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) submitted a letter informing the NRC that Technical Specifications (TS) Bases sections 3/4.2.1 and 3/4.2.3 need to be
. revised to correct an editorial error in a reference number. On October 29,1996, the NRC i
issued amendment numbers 116 and 101 to the TS for LaSalle, Units 1 and 2. These amendments changed various sections of the TS to reflect the transition of fuel supplier from j
General Electric to Siemens Power Corporation and included the correct reference in Bases sections 3/4.2.1 and 3/4.2.3. Amendment 101 for Unit 2 will be implemented prior to restart from
. the current LaSalle, Unit 2 outage and will correct the problem. However, amendment 116 for LaSalle, Unit 1 will not be implemented until the next refueling outage for that unit. Therefore, _
j the staff approves the implementation of the change to the Bases sections discussed above and i
reflected on the revised Bases pages submitted with the September 4,1997, letter, prior to implementation of the remainder of amendment 116.
