Dear Mr. Laudenat:
The following represents a bi-weekly progress report for work completed on Millstone Unit 2 ICAVP for the week ending April 3,1998.
Project Schedule: Forecasted discovery completion dates noted in Tier summaries presented below.
i Tier 1 - System Vertical Slice Reviews HPSI system discovery complete. Corrective Action Review and DR closcout still pending.
AFW system review is moving forward with recent receipt of CST information. Discovery complete forecast to be June 15,1998.
t RRC system review in progress. Forecast discovery complete June 5,1998.
EDG system review in progress. Forecast discovery complete June 12,1998.
i impact of programs associated with EQ, HELB, SBO are on-hold pending receipt ofinformation from e
NNECo. Current information indicates:
=> SB0 target date has slipped to April 7,1998. Schedule for completing SB0 effort is 8 weeks after receipt ofinformation.

=> HELB/EQ - limited information will be available from NNECo by mid-May, final information is expected mid-November. Schedule options associated with this change are still being evaluated.
Impact of delayed accident reanalysis on Tier 1 systems review is under evaluation.

Tier 2 - Accident Mitigation System Review Closure of preliminary DRs, UIRs and RAls is required to complete Tier-2 review. See Attachment B for

details.
Design inputs have been received for 8 of the 12 DDEv being reanalyzed by NNECo. Design inputs for the remaining 4 DBEv are scheduled to be transmitted to Parsons by April 15,1998.
Short term (April) staffing reductions initiated based upon slippage of projected reanalysis completion dates.
Tier 2 schedule revised based on NNECo " Accept Analysis" date of April 30,1998. Tier 2 discovery complete forecast as June 19,1998.
