Response to Verbal Request for Additional Information on the I Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2, Resolution of Unresolved Safety issue A-46 (TAC Nos. M69474 and M69475)

By telephone on March 25,1998, NRC staff requested the status of Equipment Outlier Resolutions and Relay Outlier Resolutions that were discussed in our November 17, l 1997 letter to the Commission in response to a Request for Additional Information related to Generic Letter 87-02," Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and ,

Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, USl A-46." The status is as follows: /c.J>

Outliers were listed in the above referenced letter in Attachment 2, Equipment l l

Outlier Resolutions, and Attachment 3, Relay Ou'!ier Resolutions. These q attachments showed the scheduled completion of resolution for each outlier or i else stated that the resolution had been completed. Resolution of all the outliers that were scheduled for December 1997 have been completed. There were three equipment outlier items (CV-39401, CV-39409, and CV-39421) scheduled for modification in future refueling outages and the schedule for these three items remains unchanged. All relay outlier resolutions have been completed.
