1. ' PURPOSE This test report evaluaf.es thefreedom of motion of Grinnell hydraulic snubbers during Duke Power Company - McGuire Stations MSLB accident temperature condition. This testing was performed under Grinnellshop order No. 41-28923 in accordance with the requirements of Duke Power Company P.O. No. M N31233, Rev.1 "QA Condition 1".
2. TEST SPECIMENS Two (2) Grinneli Figure 200 N hydraulic sunbbers were supplied by Duke Power Company. Both were 1 1/2" bore with 5" strokes and contained polycarbonate reservoirs. The serial numbers were 20598 and 20725. Both snubbers were manufactured in 1978 and subsequently rebnitt by Duke Power Company using Grinnellsuppped seals, fuld and procedures.
3. TEST REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Snubbersetting at midstroke 3.2. Snubber reservoirfdled to 150% capacity 3.3. InitialSnubber temperature 120' F in moisture environment 3.4. QulCkly increase all temperature to 350'F 3.5. H0!d temperature at 350'Ffor 10 minutes 3.6. Performfreedom of motion test by hand on snubber tofull extension andfull retraction

6. TEST RESULTS No restriction of motion was encountered with either snnbber.
7. ANALYTICAL RESULTS An analysis was performed on 1 1/2 to 6" bore Gnnnell hydraulic snubber cylinders. The efects of equilibnnm temperatures up to 350'F on the slidin0 components of the cylinders were evaluated. Using worst case tolerances, materials and material properties: no interference resulted. This analysis is onfdefor review at Grinnell Corporation.
