Mr. Phil Greenberg, staff aid to the Markey Subcommittee, has requested that each NRC participant at these meetings be polled to determine whether he or she took notes. Mr. Greenberg further requests that all available notes be provided to the Subcommittee pursuant to Congressr.'an Markey's original request.

Thit is in response to your August 28, 1986 letter in which you requested information on meetings and discussions between various parties as well as documents related to the possibility of reducing the size of the emergency planning zone (EPZ) for the Seabrook nuclear power plant.

A list of documents regarding the Calvert Cliffs application is provided in Enclosure 5.
Copies of the listed documents are also enclosed.
l As indicated in the July 29, 1986 letter from Public Service of New Hampshire, the applicant has requested the NRC to perform a technical review of the Seabrook. Station Probabilistic Safety Assessment Update. Depending on the results of the technical review, the applicant may request a change tn the i
emergency plan process for Seabrook but has not specified to this time what future action may be requested. Regarding the Calvert Cliffs request for an i
exemption to the requirement for an EPZ of generally 10 miles in radius, the NRC responded on February 14, 1986, that the request was prer.ature and that l
action on this issue was being deferred until presently ongoing studies involving the source term have become final.
The Office of Congressional Affairs will inform the Subcommittee of any future meetings between the Seabrook applicant and the sta#f when scheduled.

During the winter of 1985 and spring of 1986 there were two or perhaps three -
conversations between Scinto and Dignan discussing the status of issues
. relating to a number of facilities including Comanche Peak, Yankee Rowe and Seabrook. Possible request for exemption from EPZ requirement for Seabrook was discussed.
No notes, or log, were kept. There were also a few conversations during this period between Christenbury, Perlis and Dignan.
09/09/85 Telephone call between Nerses and Perlis regarding a discussion Perlis had with Dignan on the emergency plan from Massachusetts.
10/10/85 Telephone call between Ne'rses and Perlis regarding discussions between Dignan and Cunningham, Reis, Christenbury Turk, Scinto about using Seabrook PRA and new source term data to replace the EPZ.
