Gentlemen:

This refers to the preoperational physical protection inspection conducted

by Messrs. J. L. Belanger and J. R. Kniceley, and Ms. G. M. Christoffer of

this office on September 29-30, October 1-3, 7-9, and 14, 1986 of activities

at the Braidwood Nuclear Power Station, Unit I authorized by NRC Construction

Permit No. CPPR-132 and to the discussion of our findings with

Mr. E. E. Fituatrick at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed c

/ of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspectior.

Within these areas, the inspection . consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

The inspection showed that the minimum requirements of the security program

are being met; therefore, the program is adequate to support fuel load. No

violations of NRC requirements were identified during the

urse of this

inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection concern a subject matter which is exempt

from disclosure according to Part 73, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations,

Section 73.21(c)(2).

This information must be handled and protected in

accordance with the provisions of 10'CFR 73.21.

Consequently, our report

of this inspection will not be'placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
