Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the 1 United States Nuclear. Regulatory Commission's regulations in 10 CFR Part 51..

notice is hereby given that a' Final Environmental. Statement (FES) (NUREG-1166) has been prepared by the Comission's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation related to the proposed decommissioning of the Humboldt Bay Power Plant Unit j No. 3 in Humboldt County, California. The FES addresses the aouatic, terrestrial, radiological, social and economic impacts associated with i decomissioning. A Draft Environmental Statement (DES) on this action was  ;

' issued on April 23, 1986 to Federal, State and local agencies and to members of the public who requested copies. An extended public coment period was provided-for the DES, beginning on April 28, 1986 and ending on August 15, 1986 for a total of 109 days. . Coments on the DES, and NRC staff responses to ,

those coments, are incorporated into the FES.

Copies of the FES are available for inspection by the public in the  ;
