CONFIRMATION OF MEETING - V0GTLE - DOCKET N0. 50-424 This confirms the conversation between Mr. L. T. Gucwa of your staff, and.
Mr. L. A. Reyes of my staff, on June 9,1987, concerning your letter of June 9, 1987, and a management meeting to be conducted at the Region II Office on June 11,1987, at 1:00 p.m.
We requested that this meeting occur prior to the restart.of Unit 1 and we acknowledge your verbal agreement of our request.
l This meeting will.specifically cover the recent operational events which i
occurred over the weekend (June 6 and 7,'1987) and the relationship of these events' to past reactor trips, ESF actuations and operator performance. We ara very interested in your-perspectives on these issues, particularly since you j
~ have also expressed concern about these.same issues.
In that regard, it is imperative that these discussions provide us a thorough understanding of your y
assessment of root causes and the necessary corrective actions to preclude.the 1
continuation of this noted adverse trend.
Should you have any questions regarding these arrangements, we will be pleased to discuss them.
