Dear Mr. Tucker:

SUBJECT:

CATAWBA, OCONEE, AND MCGUIRE SOLID WASTE PROCESS CONTROL PROGRAMS In your Semi-Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report dated March 1, 1985, ,-m you submitted to the NRC for information and evaluation the latest revision to 1 the solid waste process control programs (PCPs) for your three nuclear (d eneration stations, Catawba 1 and 2; Oconee 1, 2, and 3; and McGuire 1 and 2. g Our staff has reviewed the submitted process control programs and has found the PCPs to be acceptable for all the above generating stations. It is noted that the staff is developing Generic PCP guidelines that may be issued in the future. At that time, it may be necessary for Duke Power to revise the PCPs accordingly. The techni:al basis for judging that the present PCP versions are acceptable is provided in the enclosed safety evaluation report which concludes the subject PCPs provide conformance with present requirements. If you require any clarification of this matter, please contact the Catawba Project Manager, Kahtan Jabbour, at (301) 492-7367. l l Sincerely, T.._ d', B. J. Youngblood, Director N. PWR Project Directorate #4 Division of PWR Licensing-A
