Inspection Report 50-353/87-02

This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. R. A. Gramm and

J. E. Kaucher on February 3 - March 29,1987 at the Limerick Generating

Station, Unit 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania of activities authorized by NRC

License No. CPPR-107 and to the discussions held by the inspectors with

Mr. P. K. Pavlides and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the

inspection.

Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that certain activities

were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in

the Notice of Violation, enclosed as Appendix- A.

Four examples were found where inprocess work activities had not been

performed in accordance with applicable construction procedures. At least two

of the activities were performed by backshift personnel.

A response to this report is required by 10 CFR 2.201, please follow the

instructions in Appendix A in the preparation of your response. The response

directed by Appendix A, Notice of Violation, is not subject to the clearance

procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork

Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
