Dear Mr. Miraglia,
The subject Generic Letter requested that licensees submit a list of all pressure isolation valves (PIVs) together with a description of the periodic tests or other measures performed to assure the integrity of each valve as an independent barrier at the reactor coolant pressure boundary.
The District is currently reviewing the testing or verification performed on PIVs as requested by the subject Generic Letter.
However, due to our current outage situation, we will not be able to complete our review within the time period given in the Generic Letter.
The District will complete this review by July 10, 1987, and hereby requests an extension of the response period to that date.
